It started back home, you heard it in your soul

Told you time to go, you gotta hit the road

Don’t let em’ hold you back, leave em’ in the past

They don’t like it, when you stunt on a hater like that

Oh now you got em’ mad, hey hit your dance

They don’t wanna see you laugh, rather see you all sad

Rather see you doing bad, they’d rather see you doing bad.

What type of hate is that?

We big as our nostrils

It wasn’t always hostile

It wasn’t always docile

But look we did it proper

And yea we took some loses

We ain’t get no Oscars

But now we got em’ awestruck

Either that or nauseous

We’re through being cautious

We got this!

12th & Pine

12th and Pine is a project by Marshall Law Band that includes an album, a graphic novel and a documentary. Produced by Jack Endino, the album is a secular sermon that delivers a visceral punch. A product of this time in Seattle, Marshall Law Band's new project is the next step in the revolutionary ideal for human rights and social justice set forth by civil rights leaders including Dr. Samuel B. McKinney from Mount Zion Baptist Church who brought Dr Martin Luther King Jr to Seattle in 1961.
